A Michigan woman was discovered residing within the rooftop signage of a Family Fare grocery store, having lived there for about a year, according to local police.
On April 23, Midland police were alerted to the woman’s unconventional living situation after contractors encountered her while working on the roof.
The space, measuring 10 to 15 feet in length, five feet across, and up to eight feet high, was well-equipped with flooring, a computer, a desk, a printer, a Keurig, and a stocked pantry, detailed the Midland Police Department.
Brennon Warren, a spokesperson for the police, stated, “We made contact with her and informed her that she could not reside there. She was officially banned from the property and was offered local support services, which she declined.”
The woman exited the premises peacefully. While she had been living there for roughly a year, the means by which she accessed the roof remains unclear.
No charges were pressed against her for occupying the space, the police noted.
